Leadership in Practice webinar

Cultural considerations in leadership

Wednesday, October 6, 2021 - 20:00 to 21:30

Chanthanith (Nith) Chittasy will speak about his experiences of leadership and learning to work across cultures.

Nith was born in Laos, arriving in Australia in 1976 after fleeing his home and living in a refugee camp in Thailand. Now settled in Sydney, he ran his own electronics and computer repair business for over 40 years. He has been heavily involved in local community and Buddhist groups in Australia, as a public officer of the Lao Buddhist Society of NSW and a member of the Bonnyrigg Town Centre and Multicultural Advisory Committees. Nith and his wife Ramphay have acted as liaison officers representing their temple, and have built relationships with government and broader community in NSW. Among their many activities, they initiated a 'Sunday school' to teach children in their community about Buddhist values and culture.

Nith and Ramphay first encountered Initiatives of Change (IofC) when they travelled to Panchgani, India, after getting married 37 years ago. Nith has been involved in IofC's Asia Pacific Youth Conferences (APYC) in Japan and the Philippines.

Join us for a thought-provoking session with our Leadership in Practice community, a diverse group of people committed to deepening their own practices of ethical leadership in their daily lives, workplaces and local communities.

This event is part of a series of Leadership in Practice webinars organised by Initiatives of Change Australia. Details of how to register will be posted here soon.
