Governance and Finance

The association, ‘Initiatives of Change Australia’ is incorporated as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, registered with the Australian Charities and Not‑for‑profits Commission (ACNC), ABN 22 004 350 789. The association currently has around 120 members. See the membership page for more information.

The Board is responsible for the financial and legal management of IofC Australia.

An Annual General Meeting (AGM) of members receives the audited accounts and annual report of activities, and elects Board members. The AGM is usually held in conjunction with a national meeting of the IofC network. Members who are unable to attend the AGM in person are encouraged to vote by proxy. The audited financial reports are available on the ACNC website.

In the past, a corps of full-time volunteers managed many organizational activities, and was supported in various ways through stipends and in-kind contributions. Others made their own financial resources available to enable new ventures or participation. IofC Australia supports a strong culture of volunteerism, while also recognizing that in the context of today’s workforce, paid workers and staff are necessary to support its network of volunteers. The organization continues to seek new public and private sources of financing, and welcomes all offers of contributions as well as access to contacts and networks that may wish to support IofC’s peace building work.

To contribute, contact Initiatives of Change Australia, 226 Kooyong Rd, Toorak, Victoria 3142 on 03 98221218 or via email info.au@iofc.org
