Call for Nominations

Creators of Peace International’s New Governance Model, Calling for Nominations for International Coordinators, and Expressions of Interest in the Portfolio Working Teams to support International Coordinator’s service to world network

Creators of Peace International has introduced a new governance model.

A feature of this new model is that the International Coordinators (up to ten) who administer Creators of Peace each take on a specific responsibility function or portfolios to serve the world network. These are: President, Secretary, Treasurer, 2 x National Teams Liaison, Communications, Programmes, People Care and Fundraising. Portfolio Working Teams will be supporting each International Coordinator in their area of responsibility.

Creators of Peace is Calling for Nominations for women prepared to volunteer to serve as International Coordinators, closing 25 June 2013.

In addition, Expressions of Interest are sought from women prepared to volunteer in Portfolio Working Teams.

Accompanying this notice, are three documents providing the following:

  1. A description of the International Coordinator Roles.
  2. Nomination Form to: (A) nominate as an International Coordinator or (B) give Expressions of Interest in Portfolio Working Teams.
  3. Election Process

Election of the new International Coordinators will take place at the Creators of Peace General Assembly (AGM) at Caux, Switzerland, during the Dialogue on Land and Security Conference, on 9 July 2013. Following the AGM and election of the new International Coordinators will be two days of planning meetings on the 10 and 11 July in Caux.

A need is seen for an executive role to coordinate, overview and support the International Coordinators responsible for diverse 'functions', in order to maximize the benefit from their efforts (and the Portfolio Working Teams) for the Creators of Peace world network. This will be decided by the new International Coordinators.

We realise that, as with any changes, we will need to see how the new model works in practice; so we are seeing this first year with the new model as a 'pilot year'. We can review how we are getting on after one year and then adapt according to what might need improving.

We ask all to consider who may offer to play a part in serving the Creators of Peace world team as an International Coordinator, as part of a Portfolio Working Team or through encouraging other colleagues you think may be suited and talking it over with them.

Warmest regards, Trish McDonald-Harrison,
Secretary on behalf of the Creators of Peace International Committee
