Creating Space

Monday, February 5, 2024 - 19:30 to Monday, December 2, 2024 - 21:00

Meets the first Monday of every month on Zoom.

Creating Space is where our community gathers to connect, share some time in stillness and renew our sense of purpose in the world.

We create a space for quiet reflection, deep listening and open sharing.

A reflection by a special guest speaker for each month.

For the next few months we are reflecting on Forgiveness and Healing, so sorely needed in the world at this time.

In May we welcome Mu Shwe from the Brisbane Karen Community of Burma, who will share on how to forgive those who are close to us (sometimes more challenging than we expect).

Born on the Burma-Thai border during the Myanmar government attacks on her Karen community, Mu and her family arrived in Australia as refugees in 2008. Although she carries the dire situation of her Karen community in her heart, Mu learned through faith and effective coping strategies to keep her life on track, and was the first of her Queensland community to graduate with a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology, and now works as a lawyer in the refugee and humanitarian law sector assisting refugees to reunite with their families.

Mu has a passion to be a peacebuilder in her community and in the world. She is an alumni of Life Matters Melbourne and the Caux Scholars Program in India 2019, and a core team leader of the Queensland Life Matters workshop.
