Spiritual Ecology Retreat and Leadership Program

Thursday, February 14, 2019 - 16:00 to Sunday, February 17, 2019 - 10:00

This four-day retreat will introduce participants to the field of spiritual ecology and ways of cultivating personal and social resilience through reverence for nature. Over the course of the retreat participants will learn simple and practical techniques for integrating spiritual values into their lives and work. Through storytelling, nature connection and deep inquiry, participants will journey into the nexus of the human and non-human worlds, building a relationship that can nourish both personal and societal change.

The retreat, located at the spectacular King Parrot Cottages in the Otway ranges, will include seated and walking meditation, lectures, spiritual ecology and nature connection practices, storytelling, group discussion and reflection. The retreat is open to all; however places are limited so please register your interest well in advance. Some costs apply.

Young people aged 18-35 with a faith or spiritual practice, who are passionate about ecology and environment, are welcome to apply for one of 10 supported places in our Spiritual Ecology Leadership Program (SELP). This program begins with the Otways retreat and is followed by a series of four full-day workshops with mentor support to develop projects, finishing with a public presentation and dialogue. More information and registration details are available at ceres.org.au/spiritualecology. SELP is offered by CERES Environment Park in partnership with Initiatives of Change Australia, and is funded by the Victorian Government Community Harmony Program.
