A recent Peace Circle in Canberra (Australia) asked the question: what is the significance of holding such a forum in a predominantly peaceful and harmonious society? The collective answer that emerged, despite a diverse range of views on details, was that 'peace' is a process as opposed to an end-point, and therefore needs constant nurturing and cultivation to ensure its sustenance, and on-going dialogues are core to the success of this pursuit.

We were eight Australian women from five different cultural backgrounds, meeting over two autumn days and an extra evening, in our nation’s capital, as the leaves outside were turning gold and vivid crimson. There was debate, laughter and the occasional tear as we made our way through the CoP topics, watched Ann Njeri’s interview on YouTube, and later a section of the DVD ‘Beyond Forgiving’. As facilitator, I felt that our minds and our hearts were engaged in a satisfying process. Everyone was enriched and touched by the life stories and the courage shown by those who shared them.
