... and in Perth

Tuesday, July 3, 2007

As the long awaited first rain of winter blanketed the city, sixty people from all walks of life gathered for the first public showing of The Imam and The Pastor in Perth.

In her introduction to the film, Kathy Al-kaisi, a Christian married to an Iraqi Muslim, indicated through symbols of a Muslim prayer mat, a Bible and the Star of David, the strength of purpose to work with all faiths towards the goal of peace in the world.

She said, 'For me the film illustrates how peace begins in the hearts of single individuals and spreads from there to families, communities and nations'.

The sale of 14 copies of the DVD for use personally and in communities showed the warm response of the audience to the message of the film.

People stayed long afterwards discussing the ideas in the film and relating them to their own situations.
